About the Service

Lisa Bubert is a writer, editor, and librarian in Nashville. Her work has appeared in Texas Monthly, Texas Highways, Catapult, Longreads, The Rumpus, and more. Her Longreads essay, "The Sunset," was listed as notable in the 2023 Best American Essays Anthology. Her fiction has been nominated for Best Small Fictions (Pidgeonholes) and a Pushcart Prize (Natural Bridge Journal). She has been writing, editing, and working as a youth librarian for over ten years. She is no stranger to a first draft and loves participating in critique circles.

 

Lisa specializes in copywriting, copyediting, fact checking, research, proofreading, submission packets and consultation, developmental editing and literary coaching for manuscripts, and manuscript evaluation with specific expertise in literary fiction for adults, as well as children's, middle grade, and young adult fiction. She regularly reviews picture books for young children BookPage and loves working on picture book consultations!

 

Her areas of interest are anything related to Texas, public libraries, rural healthcare, publishing, journalism, long-form writing and reporting, children's literature, and more.
