About the Provider
Amy Delcambre has 20 years of professional editing and writing experience. She most recently worked as a developmental editor for GracePoint Publishing and as a writer, developmental editor, and proofreader for various projects with Lumina Datamatics before starting her emerging hybrid publishing company, Yellow Ink Publishing Company, LLC. Prior to that, Amy worked for her own private editing company, Creative Editing Services, LLC where she performed copy, line / substantive, and developmental editing services. She also formatted books and designed covers for authors, helping support them in self-publishing endeavors.
Her background also includes a variety of editorial roles. In 2008, Amy became the grands development specialist for The University of South Alabama in Mobile Alabama. She also taught English literature and composition for USA and taught memoir, creative nonfiction writing, social media writing, and technical writing for the University of Phoenix Online until 2020. She developed the grant writing course at USA as well as the editing and design course in 2022. During this time, Amy wrote hundreds of web articles in content marketing roles with Vertical Measures and The Storyteller Agency. She also worked as a travel content writer for Madden Media and Compass Media. She wrote the copy for the official CVB travel guide for the City of Mobile for 2016 and 2017 as well as for Gulf Shorts and Orange Beach for 2016 through her work with Compass.
In 2022, Amy wrote the travel and local interest guide Secret Mobile: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful and Obscure (Reedy 2022) while also working for GracePoint and Lumina Datamatics where she wrote content for and edited psychology textbooks and rewardingly worked as a developmental editor for Barnes & Noble SparkNotes.
Amy has an MA in creative writing from The University of South Alabama and an MPS in publishing from George Washington University. Her late husband, Sean is the motivator behind Amy’s desire to form her publishing company, Yellow Ink. As she worked with many talented students in her career as a professor in a rapidly changing publishing landscape throughout the 20-teens, Amy wanted to create more opportunities for students to make their publishing dreams come to fruition while also helping support college students who wanted to pursue careers in editing who would need to gain experience should they want to seek work in larger publishing houses.
Amy’s husband, Sean, passed from cancer caused by chemical exposure August 5, 2019, which resulted in the mother of three daughters then 19 months, 3 1/2, and 6 needing to focus on healing C-PTSD and complex grief while learning to function as a single mother. Amy is now a part of The Frenchmen, an arts collective in Mobile, AL where she sells photography, painting, and her books, and where she operates Yellow Ink Publishing Company. The eclectic collective represents over 120 artists and authors and is always seeking new, diverse talent.
