In the past year, I edited over 20 books across a variety of genres. I charge $75/hour and generally edit 8,000 words/hour for developmental edits and 5,000 words/hour for line edits.
I work in Word with track-changes turned on, making edits as I go, leaving comments in the margins for you to consider, plus I'll send an overview of the manuscript as a whole. I accept payment via Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle. I usually start with a 2-hour payment. After two hours of editing, I'll send you what I've done so far, and you can let me know if you want a more in-depth (or less so) edit, then we can better calculate an estimate for the full project.
