I'm an expert literary journal editor (the Missouri Review) with 30+ years of experience editing prose for a nationally acclaimed literary journal. I'm also a contributing editor for Bloom, a site that features later-emerging writers, and a published fiction and nonfiction writer with work in such respected journals as Georgia Review, Southwest Review, Shenandoah, Florida Review, Story magazine, and others. My work has been longlisted for Best American Essays, and I'm a repeat Pushcart Prize nominee. As an editor, I've worked with writers at every stage of their book projects and have edited both fiction and nonfiction. Books I've edited have won the Drue Heinz Award, the John Simmons Award, and the Peter Taylor Prize for the novel and have been published by various independent presses. I welcome queries from writers who want feedback on an individual story or essay, a full book-manuscript edit, or consultation on a novel-in-progress. I work at reasonable Midwest rates and provide free estimates on all projects. Also, btw, I love what I do!
