Hi, I'm Erin, owner of Sunshine Editorial Services & Book Coaching, where I help nonfiction writers in the genres of self-help, personal development, memoir, alternative spirituality, and holistic wellness write their best books. I specialize in developmental editing.
Through developmental edits and manuscript assessments, I provide key developmental feedback on your manuscript in the areas of clarity, completeness, organization, flow, voice, and ability to connect with your reader. This expert feedback helps you revise your manuscript with confidence.
My developmental edit includes extensive, helpful notes in your manuscript, select line edit suggestions for improving clarity, flow, and authority at the sentence level, and e lengthy editorial letter in which I outline what about your manuscript is working, what can be improved, and how I suggest you improve it, including the same for each chapter. This is ideal for the writer seeking detailed editorial feedback to guide them in improving their manuscript through every chapter.
My manuscript assessment is similar, except its editorial letter does not dive into each chapter individually, so is suited for writers seeking general developmental feedback in the areas noted above.
I complete each of these services in four weeks.
I also offer copyediting and proofreading services to help you polish your manuscript and ready it for publishing. I complete these services in three weeks.
When you email me, I will send you a questionnaire to complete and return so I can learn about you, you project, and how I can best serve you at this time. If I can help you, I will respond with next steps.
My goal is to help you reach your publishing goals!
Client love:
"Erin is an editing wizard! We clicked from the start. She helped me fine-tune the purpose of my book and the most appropriate target audience. This was great as it was actually different than I'd originally thought. She really got me. She pulled more details from me to clarify the meaning of certain passages. She moved text around to improve the flow. She validated my intuition by keeping the first chapter as the first chapter when others thought it should be something else. I'm so happy that Erin showed up when she did. I will definitely use her for book #2 and beyond." ~ Jo Ann Richards, author of Midlife Magic, a memoir
